Bronson still won't give their actual workers a raise however. Oh, but they get "travelers", people who know how to clean surgical instruments and work normal shifts, but have fewer responsibilities and get paid much more.

The number of surgeries they're doing is insane for the number of staff they have, but they have to make all the money they lost back while they had to shut surgeries down during the beginning of covid. Surgical reprocessing is no better, being forced to cut corners cleaning surgical instruments, trying to keep up because Bronson refuses to hire people to fill in the spots they're missing. People who don't even know what they're doing like nurses and such, but they keep their nursing pay rate while they don't get more. Hell, they're even trying to mandate people in other areas to clean patient rooms and do EVS work because they're so short staffed. No hazard pay, no raises and a single bonus of 500 dollars over the entirety of the pandemic. They didn't do anything for any of us when covid hit really bad. They're forcing people to take on more work, go to areas they're uncomfortable in or had little training. You guys just run surgical instruments though machines." The email included in this is how EVS is spoken to by their director, someone with no experience of the job and doesn't want to dirty their own hands and clean with them. "You guys clean up piss and shit, that's it, you shouldn't get paid more." "You're the dishwashers of healthcare. These areas are continuously treated like dirt by other staff. Don't hire enough staff, overwork the staff you have and don't pay them enough for the job.

These areas were understaffed before covid because Bronson likes to be cheap. A couple of key areas that keep the hospital from shutting down are EVS (janitorial), surgical reprocessing. Right now, every area in the hospital is very understaffed. I'm going to shine a light on this for people to see and explain what's happening behind the scenes.

Plenty of people know how difficult it is to work healthcare right now due to covid, but I think the public don't see how hospitals, or at least this one, treat their employees. Hey Kzoo, I'm a worker at Bronson Methodist and I want to just put this information out there for others to see.
